About Johnson Estate
New York's oldest continuously operating estate winery — family-owned since 1961, along the shores of Lake Erie. Now under a third generation of Johnsons, 115 acres of vines produce 40+ award-winning wines.
Evolved from a century-old fruit farm into a destination blending wine, hospitality, and community. European classics like Riesling, American Heritage wines like Concord, and dessert wines including port, sherry, and ice wines. The "WTF" wine — re-launched with a new label — is a longtime customer favorite. 2026 Los Angeles International Wine Competition recognition just announced.

Did the Lake Erie Wine Trail and Johnson Estate was the highlight. Tasting room staff knew every wine cold. The ice wine was unreal — bought a case. Tour of the vineyards was a bonus we didn't expect.
Drove from Cleveland for the day, hit four wineries. Johnson Estate was the best — they took the time to explain heritage Concord vs European-style varietals. We're members now. The dessert wines are addictive.
